Okay so I was at a Screeching Weasel show, and I drove two
hours to get there from where I lived. It was a bar show but
it was pretty crowded, but there was a group that stayed with
me at the front of the crowd the whole time. They were in
their 30s. One of them was a lady and she comes back with
beer, I hate beer but I didn't know if she got it for me or if
she just needed me to hold it, but I was really thirsty.
Weasel was on at this point and there was no hope of
communication between us or a hope of moving anywhere, so I
hold the beer for a while, take a couple of sips. I get
impatient and chug it, it tastes good, I hate beer, weird.
anyways she slaps my wrist and eventually the show ends I
meet up with them, kinda dizzy, Turns out it was actually a ton of Jameson. It comes up that I'm about to
drive two hours home to work the next morning. It's Cinco de
Mayo so they take me out for tacos and get me an uber ride to
my car, all on them. Super nice guys we talk about punk albums
and music and such for two hours. Great time. This one's for
them. Also on a side note, the opening band threw tacos at the
crowd, totally stealing that. One day I'll get their name.
Punks are nice generally in my experience, get in the pit and
you'll see.
